A recent case of child abuse has shocked Tokyo, as 26-year-old kindergarten nanny Sakuma Seira has been accused of mistreating a young boy. The incidents allegedly occurred within the kindergarten premises, where Sakuma reportedly yanked the boy’s hair forcefully, causing him to fall and sustain multiple injuries. Tokyo police arrested Sakuma on the 25th.
According to Japanese media, Sakuma Seira allegedly abused the boy at least twice in May. She forcefully pulled his hair, causing him to fall and suffer injuries, and also physically assaulted him. The boy’s family noticed something was wrong when they saw bruises on his hands and signs of his hair being pulled. They then reported the incident to the police and notified the kindergarten.
Initially, the family accused the kindergarten of abuse on May 9, but the institution denied the allegations. However, the family persisted and found evidence of the abuse from surveillance footage. The police, after reviewing the evidence, found significant cause to suspect Sakuma. Upon her arrest, Sakuma admitted to the offense, stating that she had been provoked and acted out of anger.
The police are conducting a thorough investigation into this case and are also planning to investigate all the nannies at the kindergarten to ensure no other children have been mistreated. Many Japanese netizens, upon seeing Sakuma Seira’s appearance, noted that she resembled a Korean pop star, but were shocked to learn of her malicious behavior.
