Japan launches’ puncture resistant and anti chopping umbrella ‘: a new protective tool for future carriages
Today, I finally have the opportunity to share with you a very unique ‘home weapon’ – the ‘puncture resistant and anti chopping umbrella’ launched by Japan. Although there was no actual demonstration of the umbrella’s ability to withstand multiple blows at the official exhibition, from the design intention and materials, it should be able to prevent the blade from penetrating to a certain extent.
However, it is currently unclear how many strikes it can withstand and how it performs when facing more powerful weapons.
Practical application and limitations
This anti chopping umbrella is designed as a safety protection tool for the carriage and will be deployed in the carriage in case of emergency in the future. In the event of a crisis, passengers can quickly access it for self-protection. However, there was no detailed demonstration of the umbrella’s performance in actual chopping during the exhibition, possibly to avoid unnecessary panic or to further improve the technical details.
Although it looks very suitable as an emergency tool, especially when facing small knives with good suppression, whether users can completely escape danger with this umbrella in more dangerous situations still needs further practical testing and research.
