Momoka Tojo, who only officially joined KATACOTO * BANK in June this year, faced significant backlash for her mistake. The photo showed Tojo celebrating her 20th birthday with her boyfriend, with a sweet caption that read “Thank you” as she nestled close to him. The photo’s revelation left fans feeling betrayed and disillusioned with her idol image.
In response to the incident, KATACOTO * BANK’s management company issued a disciplinary decision on the 27th. The announcement confirmed that the man in the photo was indeed Tojo’s boyfriend but stated that she had been instructed to distance herself from him. The company criticized her for lacking the awareness expected of an idol. To regain the fans’ trust, the company mandated that Tojo must post a goodnight photo on the official account every night for the next year, proving she is sleeping alone.
Following the company’s directive, Tojo complied and posted a selfie around 11 PM on the 27th on the official Twitter account, captioned with “Good night, I will work hard again tomorrow.”
