Wang Xin, celebrated as EVA Air’s “most beautiful pilot,” is admired for her sweet appearance and professional skills. Recently, she took to the social media platform Threads to share her past experience as a trainee with the Japanese idol group AKB48. She posted a photo with SKE48 member Jurina Matsui, discussing her two-year journey as a trainee and why she ultimately decided not to debut with AKB48.
Wang Xin wrote that she had a strong interest in performing from a young age and dreamed of showcasing herself on stage. At the age of 20, she participated in AKB48’s auditions and became a trainee. During her two years of training, she dedicated her weekends to intense practice sessions, despite having to attend school during the week: “I pushed myself to do my best at every practice session.” She eagerly anticipated the day she could debut and wear beautiful performance costumes.

However, as two years passed and she was nearing university graduation, there was still no definite opportunity for her to debut: “At this point, I had to make a choice—continue chasing my dream or choose a more stable path.” As a trainee, she had no income, and the future of her debut was uncertain. Ultimately, Wang Xin chose to face reality: “Since I chose another path, I decided to excel in it.”
