In 2021, Japanese media reported that Chiyo Fukuhara returned to her hometown in Sendai, Japan, with the help of Jiang Hongjie’s family after the divorce. Fukuhara had proposed living together, but her mother firmly refused. In an interview with Chinese media, Fukuhara revealed that after her mother returned to Japan, she chose to live in Sendai, and they had neither seen each other nor lived together since then.
Later, Fukuhara publicly shared a video showing an elliptical ping pong table she had designed for her mother, who had mobility issues. According to reports, this event brought the mother and daughter back together.
Now, Fukuhara shared a photo of red bean soup on Weibo, expressing her gratitude toward her mother. She mentioned that since her mother can no longer stand in the kitchen for long periods, she has taken over the cooking.
