23-year-old Japanese national soccer player Kaishu Sano, who recently announced his transfer to Bundesliga club Mainz 05, has been arrested on allegations of sexual assault. Reports indicate that Sano, along with two other men in their twenties, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her thirties between 2 AM and 4 AM on July 14th at a hotel in Yushima, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo.

According to sources, the victim’s female friend, who knew the three arrested men, stated that the group of five had a gathering in Roppongi on the night of the 13th before heading to a hotel to continue their activities. The friend left around 2 AM, after which the woman was allegedly assaulted by the three men. The police received a report around 4 AM and found the three men near the hotel, taking them into custody. The suspects, including Sano, were arrested on the evening of the 14th on charges of non-consensual intercourse, and further investigations are ongoing.
