20-Something Gravure Idol Drugged and Assaulted by Notorious Manager, Revealed to Be Son-in-Law of Oguri Shun’s Benefactor

A recent sexual assault case involving a gravure idol in her 20s has shocked Japanese society. The suspect, 41-year-old talent manager Taku Hosokawa, was arrested by the police on charges of indecent assault and non-consensual intercourse after allegedly drugging and assaulting the victim. This case has not only alarmed the public but also sparked widespread discussion due to its ties to the entertainment industry.

According to “Josei Seven,” the incident occurred on April 4 when the victim met with Hosokawa for dinner at a Korean restaurant in Shibuya, Tokyo. It was only their second meeting. During the meal, the victim felt dizzy and had difficulty breathing. She later recalled being intermittently conscious as she was taken to a hotel. When she returned home, her family noticed something was wrong and promptly called the police. The police launched an investigation and arrested Hosokawa that same day.

Hosokawa was previously a prominent figure at the well-known entertainment company “Tristone Entertainment.” He had a significant influence in the industry and was known for working with singer miwa and actor Kentaro Sakaguchi, even being involved in their collaborative film projects. Industry insiders revealed that Hosokawa was a high-ranking official at a company related to “Tristone Entertainment” but left due to issues related to women and financial disputes. In 2019, he signed a business contract with a famous record company, claiming to be an entertainment producer while continuing to work in the industry.

Hosokawa was known for his arrogant demeanor, often wearing clothes with large logos and boasting about his influence in the entertainment world. Despite his lack of tangible achievements, he was able to act so brazenly in the industry due to his connection to his mother-in-law, who had discovered actor Shun Oguri but had since passed away. His high position at “Tristone Entertainment” was largely due to the favor of his late mother-in-law.

Shun Oguri had previously shared on a program how he was discovered by his benefactor. He was signed to “Tristone Entertainment” at the age of 15, and before his manager passed away from cancer, he was instructed to work hard, which he did, eventually becoming famous. Despite opportunities to join other big companies, he chose to stay with “Tristone Entertainment” out of gratitude for his benefactor, eventually becoming a powerhouse actor and now the company’s president. This scandal involving his benefactor’s son-in-law is speculated to be a significant blow to Oguri.

On the 3rd of this month, the police entered Hosokawa’s residence and arrested him in front of his wife. He denied any indecent behavior to the police, but they believe this is a serious crime of exploiting his position and are investigating other possible offenses.
